Presented by Jane Arensdorf, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener          

Join Jane for an enchanting walk-through of various tea garden designs. Explore all the herbs we can grow to develop your own tea. Includes recipes and a tea brewing demonstration.

 

2:30 p.m. - Tree Care
Presented by Terry Bates, City of Moline Arborist

So, you want to plant a tree? To ensure that your effort and resources are well spent, join Terry as he discusses Moline’s forestry plan.  He will review the dos and don’ts of tree planting and care. Terry will discuss tree selection, proper planting depth, supplemental watering recommendations, and how to care for newly planted trees.

4:00 p.m. - All You Need to Know about Native Plants
Presented by Cindy Lenger, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener
Join Cindy as you look at small to medium natives and how they can easily be incorporated into your existing home landscape. You will learn how to create a pollinator pocket and how they support so many different species of bees, butterflies, moths, insects, birds, and bats. Lastly, you will explore growing from seed versus buying plants.
